the ' Allegory of the cave '

In the "Allegory of the cave' Socartes is trying to explain to Gloucon about how people perceive things in life and how people can change their point of views.

Socrates explains that if some one is in a closed state of mind . No matter how many things are told or shown to a person about the real world ,he or she will never get to see the truth unless they go and experience it themselves. If not then people will be stuck in a cave ,chain up to the blind habits and believes the person has and wont welcome a change in life.

People can get into fights and arguments if we Try to show or tell someone to change the way they think. People sometimes live in the shadow of others ,they become followers and therefore will never see the light outside the tunnel.

  1. Hi, I am jieqi, I think that this is not summary for "Allegory of the cave." You deliver that the author's moral, but I think the summary is the acticle's compendium. The summary is Scrates speaking with Glaucon who live in the cave, and talking about Glaucon's life.

  2. I'm not sure jieqi is completely right. The summary could have used more specific detail, but you were trying to get the meaning of the message.
